Authorities security forces stormed into one of the biggest Shia festival in Al-Hasa in a village called Bani Maan and ordered the custodians of the festival to take apart all sorts of celebration fixtures intended for Celebrating Imam Al-Mahdi Day of Remembrance.
Sources informed Rasid that police forces stormed into Bani Maan village and threatened to put the custodians of the festival in jail if they do not take apart all sorts of celebration fixtures.
Police forces confiscated several national IDs of the festival custodians and requested them to present themselves in the local police station.
Saudi police forces gave orders to clear all celebration fixtures from five locations of the largest Al-Hasa festival which was intended to start Wednesday night.
Sources informed Rasid that preparatory works for the festival started a month ago.
Saudi Shia Celebrate Imam Al-Mahdi day of remembrance on Thursday night with a wide spread festivals. The annual event is called «Nasfa» or «Kuraikshoon». Festivals are normally held in open public areas, mosques and religious houses.
It has been the normal practice of security forces to ban and close down such festivals in Al-Hasa. Custodians of these festivals are normally detained and sent to jail after the festivals are over.
The sectarian campaign in Al-Hasa is led by Bader Ibn Jalawi, the governor of Al-Hasa, where he ordered hundreds of arrests and closed down several Shia mosques and religious houses.
It should be noted here that King Abdullah issued a royal decree to extend the services of Ibn Jalawi for another four years.
